Another beautiful day in the merry Kingdom of Elis. The fiery Sun rode his golden chariot across the clear skies, blessing all of Earth’s creatures with life-giving light. The birds chirped and the flowers blossomed, all beings merry and optimistic.

All? Well, not exactly. A single figure dragged their flip-flops across the fields that surrounded the city of Elis, cursing the moment they had agreed to that stupid plan.

Freaking Loki! Takeru fumed, trying to understand how the hell the prankster god had made him agree to his brilliant idea. Hades was bored as well. He shook his head; his admiration for the King of the Dead had brought this regrettable situation upon him.

He threw his head back and sighed. His eyes wandered across the blue sky, searching for the brilliant disc, the realm of his sister.

Uh, no. It’s not Amaterasu in this universe. It’s that idiot of a god, Apollon. Or not? Does he actually ride that blazing chariot every morning? Probably not.

He noticed where the sun was located on the sky and the realisation drew him out of his stupor. I’m gonna be late! He increased his pace and practically ran towards the city.

The sound of girly giggles aroused Aomine from his slumber under the warm sunlight. Tch. Opening one eye, he scanned lazily his surroundings. To his surprise, the concrete of the school roof where he had fallen asleep had been replaced by thick grass. Suddenly alert, he sat up, only to come face-to-face with a bunch of dazzling girls staring intently at him and giggling.

…the hell…?

One of the girls approached him and leaned down, bring her gaze at the same level as his. Hands on her hips, she squinted at him.

“You’re Hercules, aren’t you?”

“Huh?” Despite not having received an answer to her question, she turned to her companions.

“I told you it’s him! He’s wearing the Nemean Lion hide! He’s even got that grotesque club.”

Hercules? Lion? Club? What is she talking about? Still confused, he took a more careful look at the girls. They were all wearing some kind of thin bedsheet? with golden brooches at the shoulders, their arms and lower legs uncovered by the textile.

Is there some kind of weird out-of-season Halloween party going on?

He stood up and took a step towards the company. All of the girls moved away screeching, apart from the one who had identified him as Hercules. She stood her ground, her eyes following his every move not unlike a hawk’s.

“Ladies, please.” The girls yelped surprised at the sound of the voice and turned around to face the newcomer. At the view of the tall green-haired man, they all fell on one knee.

“Lord Hades.”

“Please, rise and, Naiad, stop teasing that young man”, Hades said to the fearless girl. Aomine could only stare as the man approached him. He focused on the school uniform that the latter was wearing, trying to figure out if he had met him before.

“Hey, you. Do I know you? Which school are you from?” Aomine barked.

“You imbecile! How do you dare talk to Lord Hades like that?” Naiad hissed. “Even if you are the great Hercules, Lord Hades is-” The god’s arm extending in front of her stopped her words in her mouth.

“That’s enough, Naiad”, Hades said. “All of you, would you please leave us alone?”

“Yes, Lord Hades.” The girls said in unison and disappeared from sight. Aomine could have sworn that the one called Naiad had melted in a puddle of water and run into the nearby lake. Hades sighed relieved.

“Now that the nymphs are gone, I should-”

“Now that the what are gone?!?!” Aomine exclaimed incredulously.

“Well, the truth is, you are not in Jap- Ah! Just in time!” Hades extended his arm palm upwards pointing somewhere behind Aomine. The bluehead turned on his heel as Takeru made his appearance.

The two bluenets stared each other down.

“Oi, you! Better show some respect!” Takeru growled.

“Takeru, he doesn’t know-” Hades attempted to smooth things but was interrupted by Aomine’s temper going out of control.

“Watch your mouth, brat!” He stretched his back, towering over the Japanese deity’s small frame.

B-brat?!” Takeru was lost for words at the filthy human’s blaspemy. “Whom do you think you’re talking to? I’m Susano-o! The Susano-o! God of the seas!”

“Right. And I’m Tsukuyomi. The infinite.” Aomine crossed his arms at his chest and looked down at the smaller bluehead.

“What? No! Tsukuyomi is my brother!” Takeru produced a small piece of paper from the pocket of his school uniform. “Here! Look!” He thrust a picture of Tsukito at Aomine’s face.

“Please, you two! Calm down!”

Having lost any interest in Takeru, Aomine turned to Hades.

“Care to explain what’s going on?”

“Well, it might be difficult to believe, but what Takeru said is true. He is Susano-o.”

“Right. Whatever.” Weirdos. “And why am I here? Wherever this here is.”

“Because… Well, the reason doesn’t really matter!” Freaking Loki and his ideas! “But if you want to go back to your world, you have to spend a day here.”

“’Cause this ain’t my world”, Aomine stared blankly at the greenhead.

“If you don’t believe me, you can take a look for yourself” Hades replied, his arm gesturing towards the small lake. Urged by curiosity, Aomine approached the lake and stared at the water. What greeted him from the surface was his reflection; the same complexion he had always faced in the mirror, crowned by… a lion’s head?! Before he could properly process it, the image was destroyed by small ripples on the lake’s surface. Naiad waved at him from the water.

Startled, he took a step back. Remembering the lion, his hands ran up to his head, feeling the fur that covered his hair. In his confusion, he hadn’t noticed that something had been weighing on his head, until he saw the lion in the water. He dropped his gaze on his lower body, noticing that his hips were wrapped in a bedsheet similar to Naiad’s.

“WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?”

“I just explained”, Hades was losing his patience. “That you are not in your world and have to spend a day here if you want to go back. Takeru will help you.”

“I’m not helping this gorilla!

“You meant me, shrimp?!”

“STOP IT.” Hades’ aura darkened momentarily, effectively shutting the bluenets up. “Takeru, you agreed to this. He’s from Japan and he’s under your guidance. Plus, I have to go back. Charon must have freaked out by now, alone in the Underworld.”

“If you say so…” Takeru pouted. Hades smiled and, discretely forcing a hole open in the grass, he walked into the earth, leaving Aomine gaping.

“Oi, shrimp, what’s going on?”

“That’s the King of the Dead for you!” Takeru stared at the point where Hades had been standing just a moment ago. Regaining his focus, he yelled at Aomine, “Stop calling me shrimp!”

Aomine was slowly coming to terms with the situation. It’s just a day here. I can sleep it through. He lay on the grass.

“Alright, shrimp, when night falls, wake me up.”

“What do you think you’re doing?!” Takeru lost it.

“Sleeping. I have to spend a day here.”

“Not sleeping! You have to achieve heroic status!”

“HUUUUH?”

“Get up. I’m taking you to your assignment.”

“My what?” Takeru set off without answering, forcing Aomine to follow. After a short walk, they reached the city.

“This is the city of Elis. This is where your assignment is.”

“What’s this about my assignment?”

“You have to fulfill a heroic achievement that’s waiting for you at the Palace.”

The people of the city, as soon as they laid their eyes upon Aomine, they started whispering among themselves.

Hercules… Came for the Stables… Gonna challenge King Augeas…

“Hey, shrimp, what are they talking about?”

“You and your assignment of course, blockhead.”

“I’m Hercules? And …stables?”

“Yeah, the infamous Augean Stables.”

Oh, Hercules is talking to himself. Is he going crazy? The whispers of the crowd reached Aomine’s ears once more.

“Seriously, what’s wrong with these people?”

“Didn’t I tell you that I’m Susano-o? The Japanese god?

“Yeah, I still doubt that though. Seeing you so shrimp-y.”

“Shut up, blockhead. I’m Susano-o and this isn’t Japan.”

“And?”

“They can’t see me of course! They believe in the 12 Gods of Olympus! Blockhead.”

“12 Gods of Olympus?”

“Ancient Greece, you know? Did the name Hercules not ring a bell?” Aomine thought hard about the name. From Saint Seiya maybe?

As the two bluenets left the crowd behind them and reached the Palace, the citizens had reached their conclusion: Hercules had definitely gone crazy.

The marble stairs of the Palace of the King of Elis, brilliantly white under the bright sun, soon came into view.

“So, gotta go there?” Aomine asked Takeru.

“Yeah. Got your weapon?”

“Weapon? What weapon?”

“Your club, blockhead!”

“Huh?”

Far from the City of Elis, said club lay in the grass, taking a day off from its literally bloody duties.

Worst hero choice ever. Takeru facepalmed himself.

From the corner of his eye, Aomine noticed someone lingering on the stairs. He focused his gaze towards them, taking in the familiar form. Familiar?!

“[Name]!”

Greek Mythology AU! feat. Takeru Totsuka, Hades Aidoneus and Loki Laevatein

How this came to happen: Greek Mangalogy! Intro
Part 2/2

Hercules - long story short
After a major mess up, Hercules went to the oracle of Delphi to get advice on how to get off the hook.
He was told to go serve King Eurystheus for 12 years as atonement.
Eurystheus made him go through a lot of s**t, starting with the slaying of the Nemean Lion, where Hercules got his fashionable outfit.
The Augean Stables constituted S**t No5.

According to some legends, Epicaste, Augeas' daughter, bore Hercules a son. (At least he had some fun through all that s**t)

Author's notes:
- The Kingdom of Elis was an ancient Greek kingdom ruled by King Augeas.
- Amaterasu is the Sun Goddess according to the Japanese tradition. In the Kamigami no Asobi universe, Amaterasu is a male god with feminine appearance called Akira Totsuka, brother of Takeru and Tsukito.
- It's debatable whether Apollo was the sun itself, despite being the Sun God of Greek Mythology. The most common interpretation is that the one riding the sun chariot was a god named Sun and not Apollo himself.
- Naiad was the common name for every fresh water nymph (Group Name: Naiads).
- The right name for Hercules would be Heracles, but as the Roman version is more common, I opted for that.

Sorry for the lame "Infinite Tsukuyomi" Naruto Shippuuden pun...
